Wash Days

1. The night before I wash my hair I usually pre-poo. For my  pre-poo I add cream of nature conditioner to the length of my hair and seal it with jojoba oil. But if I am being lazy that night I will just add of whatever oil is closest to me without conditioner. After I pre-poo I put a plastic cap over my  hair then my satin/silk scarf.

2. When I wake up I get into the shower and wash out the oil and condition from my hair. I then shampoo my hair with Nexxus therappe ultimate moisture shampoo. I usually only lather once unless I feel like my hair needs more lathering

3. Once I am done shampooing my hair I will either get out of the shower and t-shirt dry my hair or if I feel like my hair has been shedding a lot that week I will do a black tea rinse before getting out of the shower and t-shirt drying (I will post how I do my black tea rinses soon)

4. I usually t-shirt dry my hair for about 20 to 30 minutes. During this time I am usually mixing my deep conditioner and oils together.

5. After I am done t-shirt drying I apply my deep conditioner. ( I am still trying out new deep conditioner but right now I like ORS replinishing conditioner for my light protein and Silk elements for my moisturizing conditioner.) I apply the condition for root to end in sections making sure i get all my hair.

6. I then put on a plastic cap and sit under my dryer for about 30 minutes or leave it on for about an hour and a half if I am not using heat.

7. I then get back in the shower to wash it out and finger detangle my hair a little while in the shower.

8. I get out the shower t-shirt for about 20 minutes then detangle my hair in sections with a wide tooth comb that I got for Sally's. I also use Mane and Tail detangler.

9. I then put my leave-in in which is Cantu Shea butter leave-in and repair cream. Then I air dry my hair loose with a scarf on my edges to hold them down.

Co-wash day

1. I deep condition on dry or damp hair for about 30 minutes under the dryer or an hour and a half with no heat.

2. I get in the shower and wash out my hair with either herbal essense or hair one as my conditioner.

3. I t-shirt dry my hair for about 20 minutes then I detangle using Man and Tail detangler

4. Add my leave-ins and air dry my hair

  1. I recently learnt that coconut oil is better for penetrating the hair so good for just massaging the scalp or for deep conditioning but not great for sealing.
    How true is this?
    .
I learnt grapeseed oil is great for sealing
I currently use coconut oil too but might be changing to grapeseed oil ( its wayyy cheaper too lol)

Anyway what are your thoughts on that?

Also air drying with the scarf method? I find that doesn’t work for the ends of the hair? Do your ends dry fluffy?

    1. Coconut oil is one of the few oils that can penetrate the shaft so it is a good oil to seal with. I have noticed that if you use too much of thick moisturizer then the oil has a hard time of penetrating because of the product buildup. So I would say it is good for deep conditioning and seal with.

Yea grapeseed oil is cheap and go for sealing. I have seen many young women on youtube use it and have great results. I haven't used it yet for sealing cause I am waiting to finish my coconut oil up. I have also noticed that people who use grapeseed oil have more shine to there hair which is a plus.

So I feel like both oil are great to seal with and you will see benefits.

I like air drying only because it helps my edges lay flat but the rest of my hair does get big lol! I have heard that if you add a little hair serum to the hair while air drying it help with that problem. And will I am air drying I put a mositurizer on my end because they do dry faster then the rest of my hair.

I wear my hair mostly in a bun or up do so I don't mind too much when my hair gets big well air drying.

Hope I answered your questions! Have a great day and hair journey!!! :)
